On Saturday (1 August 2010), rescue personnel assisted Marko (1979) who was hit by a train in Rakvere. The young man was taken to a hospital.

Saturday at 4.30 AM the emergency response centre received information that a person has been hit by train in Narva street, Rakvere. The rescue personnel handed the injured man over to doctors who took him to the hospital.

The PR Officer of the police explained that the locomotive driver noticed the yound man sitting on railway, tried to stop the train by applying emergency braking but could not accomplish that and the train hit the person.

The police decided not to initiate proceedings.
