Car Drives in front of Oil Shale Train

Today (29 December 2010) at 4.21 AM the emergency centre received information that a passenger car has driven in front of a train hauling oil shale on Järveküla road in Kohtla-Jäve town.

The Volkswagen Polo driven by a 34 years old man did not let the train pass and drove to the railway with red traffic lights. The car and train collided, said the Press officer of Eastern Police Prefecture.

The rescue employees cleared the railway track and the car driver was handed over to paramedics, told Ida-Eesti rescue Centre. The driver was given first aid and released home.
