Results of photo contest “Railway and I”
The photo contest “Railway and I” organised by Operation Lifesaver Estonia expected to receive photos depicting special moments and viewpoints related to railways.
As expected, the photographers presented a wide range of visions – some of them noticed trains, some nature and some looked back in time.
Although the contest poster stated clearly that walking on railway tracks is prohibited, the organisers received several photos where people were posing on railway. Some of these photos had artistic value but the board of judges decided to exclude them from the contest, as violation of safety rules cannot be recognised, said Tamo Vahemets, Chairman of Board of Operation Lifesaver Estonia.
The contest received 148 photos from 64 authors aged between 12-72 years.
The photos were judged by a jury consisting of 14 members: Ain Köster (BNS), Kadri Hunt (Tallinn Social and Health Board), Norbert Kaareste (AS Elektriraudtee), Alex Kaskla (JCDecaux Eesti OÜ), Ain Saare (Operation Lifesaver Estonia), Priit Harik (Edelaraudtee AS), Ulvi Gundlach, Tiia Toomsalu, Merike Ellervee, Jüri Schkiperov, Meelis Virgebau, Tatjana Helm-Rosin, Maia Tisler, Lilly Ammon (AS Eesti Raudtee)
